Pi, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, is one of those things in life, if you take the time to ponder it, that can leave you awestruck - even if you're not a geek (which I profess to be). Healing the Divide in America

So said Abraham Lincoln in an address he gave on June 16, 1858. Within a couple of years after he spoke those words, the American civil war began, creating a house divided that certainly did not stand.
