Old mobile phones used to create solar-powered technology that can detect loggers and alert authorities in real time.
Each device can detect chainsaw noises up to 1 kilometer in the distance, and according to staff at Rainforest Connection, each solar-powered microphone can protect up to 300 hectares of endangered rainforest!
