Solar panel carrying donkeys bring the internet to nomads in rural Turkey
For the semi-nomadic sheepherders of rural Turkey, the internet is a way to keep up with news and socialize while on their solitary trips. Because they travel in remote areas, their means of internet access is provided by solar panels carried by a "plug-and-play" donkey! Photographer Rose-Lynn Fisher captures tears in extreme detail
When she caught one of her own tears on a slide, dried it, and then peered at it through a standard light microscope, Fisher found it fascinating. “It was really interesting. I started wondering—would a tear of grief look any different than a tear of joy?” She says. “An Estimation of the Number of Cells in the Human Body”
The authors of the paper have broken the body down by organs and cell types. They’ve scoured scientific literature for details on the volume and density of cells in gallbladders, intestines, bone marrows etc, then came up with estimates for the total number of each kind of cell.
