Artist transforms trash into awesome tiny homes for the homeless
Sculptor Gregory Kloehn has dubbed his grassroots, community-oriented initiative in Oakland "the Homeless Homes Project". Junked materials are transformed into low-cost, ultra-tiny homes for people living on the streets. The idea is to "diminish money's influence over the building process," with Kloehn and the team collecting building materials from illegal dumps and household and commercial waste. Life expectancy at birth for both men and women is globally an average of 70 years
This represents a six-year increase since 1990, according to a new health-statistics report from the World Health Organization. The average for women is 73 years; for men, 68 years.
