I sat down not too long ago with Steve McIntosh, the author of the recent book, The Presence of the Infinite, for my Interviews with the Leading Edge video interview series.
Besides being the author of this recent book, Steve has written two other books, Evolution’s Purpose, and Integral Consciousness. In addition, he is a leader in the integral philosophy movement and currently works as President of the social policy foundation The Institute for Cultural Evolution. And at an earlier time in his life, he founded the natural lifestyle company Now & Zen and designed and invented the Zen Alarm Clock, which has been a perennial bestseller.
Steve is a brilliant man, and when he speaks, you would be wise to listen. He has his pulse on the evolving nature of consciousness, spirituality, culture and politics, and he understands that there is an emerging form of spirituality manifesting, one that will take us beyond the present practice of progressive spirituality as it transforms into an evolutionary spirituality.
Steve’s desire is not only to talk and write about this evolving new paradigm, but also to demonstrate how the field of evolutionary spirituality intersects with politics and then to take these ideas and reform the political arena through his work with his foundation, The Institute for Cultural Evolution.
