Should We Live In Hope or Fear?

One of the things my upcoming film, On the Path to Strawberry Fields, delves into is: should we live in hope or fear, in terms of what we see happening in  our world?

There is so much vitriol and hate spewed out all over the place these days that it can only make you wonder: is this what we have come to? Is fear the predominant force that is going to propel us into the future?

I say no, and that’s the point of my film. I say there’s a lot of hopeful things happening right now, and into the future. Yes, there are many problems and crises at this point in time – I’m not trying to pretend otherwise.

There are more crises than you can shake a stick at: The crisis of climate change, of wealth inequality, racial and gender inequality, globalization, increased powers of corporations, the influence of big money in politics, education, work, relationships, the influence of large food corporations in the creation of public health policy, the breakdown of the medical system and the poor health outcomes for the majority of the population. The list doesn’t end there; it goes on and on.

At the same time though, there is something happening here and what it is is becoming clear: there is an awakening into increased awareness for more and more people, an evolving of consciousness, a transformation into a new way of being, thinking and doing.

This is a tipping point moment in our society and world; we are being asked to answer the call. And many, many people are.

It’s not just personal transformation that’s taking place – although that’s extremely important; this evolving consciousness, this new way of being, thinking and doing is showing up in the general culture and in the various domains of the world: economics/business; health care; food; the environment; agriculture; the arts; politics; technology; religion and spirituality; and more.

When you get down to it, this awakening, this movement towards increased awareness and an evolving of consciousness, has the potential to lead us to the greatest nonviolent revolution in the history of the planet.

And that’s what my film, On the Path to Strawberry Fields, is about.

Let’s be part of this revolution, and let’s do it now. As I say at the end of the film, let’s create an alliance of revolutionaries, a Revolutionaries Alliance if you will, and bring this movement front and center.

The future is in our hands.
