Easy Ways To Detox This Weekend (And They Don’t Involve Juicing!)

1. Take a break from technology.
Sure, living in a connected world has its perks, but there’s the flip side, too. We’re often not present in the moment, because we’re lost in screens. Try a mini-tech detox: can you switch off your phone during dinner time? Maybe for 24 hours during the weekend? Try a few variations to see which one gives you the biggest boost and works best with your life.
2. Detox your vocabulary.
As the saying goes: Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
3. Do a friend-detox.
Ah yes, relationships can be a source of toxicity, too! Ask yourself if the people you’re surrounded by are really supportive of your true nature. If you feel uncomfortable being yourself with someone, if there are power games or taunts or jabs, then perhaps it’s time to do a relationship-detox.
4. Detox your emotions.
Another source of toxicity is our bottled-up emotions: the anger, hurt, and pain that we don’t allow ourselves to express freely. We live in a world in which feeling is looked down upon, but without feeling we have no access to our internal guidance system.
5. Declutter your home.
An unhealthy attachment to things or people can get us stuck in more ways than we realize. Clean out one section of your house and see if you feel a difference in that room’s energy (and yours).
